A former MIT fellow and a former research group leader from the Technical University of Munich joined forces to develop a new kind of medical sensor.

Juan Aguirre

Dr. Juan Aguirre studied Physics and Applied Mathematics and completed his PhD in Biomedical Imaging. He has worked as a researcher in medical imaging and sensing at renowned laboratories, including the LRSM at the University of Pennsylvania, ICFO in Barcelona, and the Chair of Biological Imaging at the Technical University of Munich.
At TUM, he served as Group Leader of the Optoacoustic Mesoscopy Group from February 2014 to November 2021. Several of his technical developments have been patented, licensed, and distributed internationally.

Eduardo Lage
Consultant
Dr. Eduardo Lage received his undergraduate degree in Electronic Engineering and completed his PhD in Medical Imaging. He began his career at the Medical Imaging Lab of Gregorio Marañón Hospital, developing molecular imaging systems that were later commercialized by companies such as SEDECAL and General Electric.
He later joined the MIT M+Visión fellowship and founded the medical device company PlenOptika, where he has served as CTO for more than 10 years.

Sergio Contador

Sergio Contador holds a Bachelor of Science in Physics and a Bachelor’s degree in Electronic Engineering from the Complutense University of Madrid. He completed his PhD on AI tools applied to glucose monitoring.
Sergio has 4 years of experience in the research and development of state-of-the-art optoacoustic imaging systems.

Rodrigo Rojo is an award-winning Telecommunications Engineer specializing in electronics. He brings strong expertise in PCB design and diode laser driver technology for optoacoustic systems.
